@Kye ...now I want to do the same thing but by setting lines of poetry people send. Not whole poems, just... lines.

I have so many after-the-PhD projects!

If you are a composer of church music and you are not a man, you may be interested in my side project, Cecilia's List:
ceciliaslist.org

If you are an organist/director of music/person who makes decisions about church music, you may also be interested regardless of your gender!

I compose choral music, and put it online under a CC by-SA license so choirs can sing it for free!

Publishers won't touch my work because I won't let them prohibit photocopying, so I need support from people like you.

My Patreon is patreon.com/artsyhonker

I have other options for people who prefer them:

Thanks so much!

This week I am mostly composing choral music while feeling acutely unwell.

If I owe you communication about anything, it's likely to happen after Sunday.

Hey, I've been having a huge positive rant re: classical pieces to random people I know/trust/think are grand and I reminded myself of Florence B. Price and what rare composition works of hers you can find performed in the last few decades, and felt like sharing this piece here too:

Hello Smusi! My name is Alex and I'm a Sound Designer/Electronic Musician based in Toronto. Hoping to meet more like-minded people on this instance.

My music can be found at

and my band can be heard at

Excited to chat you up!

This is really weird but I keep losing track of which are the strong syllables in the Latin version of the Ave Maria text.

I could work it out by listening to someone else's setting but then I'll be earwormed by that, which is less than ideal.

Do I work on something else or risk putting the emPHAsis on the wrong sylLABle?

(By "in a bit" I mean "in several days and probably toward the end of January", for the avoidance of doubt.)

Really pleased with how "There Is No Rose" went at Evensong. Recording to follow in a bit, when I've finished my other work.

Fill your 2019 with pretty things! At the $1 tier you'll get access to a HUGE online library of fractalicious desktop wallpapers. At $4.51 you'll get a weekly colouring page and access to a huge back-catalogue of colouring pages, and at $9.36 you'll get a DAILY colouring page. :O

If you suffer from pain disorders like fibro or arthritis, or things like stress/anxiety/depression, colouring is a great way to relax, unwind, and distract. <3

Kindof a big deal:
A piece of mine is being premièred at Evensong at Canterbury Cathedral today.

If you are in the area you are very welcome to come (and yes, going to Evensong is free.)

New SSA a cappella choral music, free for you to download, print, record, arrange, mix, etc etc under CC by-SA. Supported by my generous patrons, yay for all of them!
