OK.

I need to hire a professional sensitivity reader/consultant to have a look at a poem for me.

It's a bit delicate, because it isn't my poem! But I have, with permission, set it to music.

I haven't published yet, and I'm aware there is one line that might be ableist but in all honesty I can't tell. If it is, I need help finding words to ask the poet to change it.

Is this a thing that can be bought? How much am I looking at?

It's meant to be a present and I really want to get it right.

@artsyhonker The only reason I'm not jumping up and waving: if it's not in your wheelhouse, chances are it's not in mine. But this *is* a service I offer.

@artsyhonker Do you have a birdsite account? I know that people hang out there who do that kind of thing; I don't know who they are. And yes, it can be bought, but I don't know the price either.

Otherwise I can throw "poetry sensivity reader wanted" to my followers, do you have an email address or something that I can include?

@irina I have a birbsite account, which public toots from this account are mirrored to. :-)

@artsyhonker Oh right, then it'll arrive there. Same username? I'll RT it when I see it.

@artsyhonker I see why I don't follow you there, I'd get the same thing twice!

@artsyhonker So you're not looking to change the line yourself, instead, you want help finding the right words to ask the poet to change the language?

@reto I'm specifically not quoting it here because a) I don't want to publish it yet and b) I don't want 5323577532 replies telling me whether it is/isn't a problem. Thank you for asking, though.

@artsyhonker well, I have been both a christian and an atheist. I mean who can say that it's atheist? some service? I doubt it very much.

@reto Atheism isn't the problem here! :-) It is an explicitly religious text.

@artsyhonker I am disabled (chronic pain) and spend a lot of time interacting with the disabled community. I also have proofread professionally (TA in college) and am a writer.

Might be the closest thing you can find to what you're looking for.

If you're interested send me a pm and we can hammer out details!
